What a Difference a Day Makes
Sometimes admitting you have a problem is the first step on the road to recovery. After a few false starts I'm pleased with the way this one turned out.
It's bright even by my standards but cheerful I think. It measures about 36" x 48" and is made from half sqare trianges constructed using my favorite method.
For years I pieced annoying triangles together to an unsatisfactory end result until I learned this trick. *I place two squares (of equal size) together right sides facing. I draw a line from corner to corner on the top triangle and sew 1/4" seam on either side of the line. Rotary cut on the line and press open (I like to press to one side but I know there is a raging debate on this in quilt blog-land). Presto. Two matching squares.
*If this is one of those things that everyone already knows, please forgive me. But if there is any chance that I can save just one annoyed quilter from misaligned triangle corners then it's all worth it.
Maybe my mojo wasn't gone as much as just teasing me.
