Since you’re considering working pretty closely with me, I figured you might like to know some stuff about who I am. I’m a mom to two boys. Actually, one is a man now (he’s 20) and one is in middle school (he’s 11). We are a blended family and it’s possible that my fascination with families — and what defines them — stems from that. I love to explore the stories inside of love and connection and my photos can get pretty intimate.

I’m casual. Always. Jeans and a t-shirt or sweater (much to my mother’s chagrin). I’m pretty straightforward and sometimes my filter is clogged and I just say what’s on my mind. I’m open and often vulnerable and I’m not sorry about it. I get through life by finding connection and I can’t do that by being closed off. So, if I come to your house, you can expect me. Open, honest and casual. And that’s what I want out of my photographs.

In the interest of sharing, here are some random facts about me. My heart is in Maine, but I live in New York, currently in the ‘burbs (Westchester County). I have cats but I wish I had dogs. I watch trash tv to relax and I’m a morning person. I love pictures. Printed, hold in your hand, hang on your wall, flip through the pages, pictures. Mothering my boys is my life’s great joy, but it’s only part of my identity. I’m also intensely close with my mother and my two aunts and my extended family has lifted me up and carried me during some pretty dark days. My idea of the perfect vacation involves a cabin and the smell of the ocean and no internet. And I used to own a knitting store.

You can peek into my daily life by browsing some of my personal work here.

So, now you know some weirdly disconnected things about me. It’s your turn. What makes you tick?
